Student Success Impact

EAW has accomplished some extraordinary achievements and innovations – thanks to the outstanding professional staff and dedicated students!

After 11 years of building EAW, expanding to new campuses, and building relationships with business partners who are fortune 500 employers providing job opportunities for EAW students, we are proud that evidence shows our work-based learning (WBL) model is working.

EAW has provided opportunities for students to thrive, and the students themselves have taken those opportunities and turned them into college success, meaningful job offers, and successful career launches - often with the same corporation they worked for while at EAW.

EAW provides a meaningful work experience alongside important financial support. Our model includes:

A part-time job with a flexible schedule.

EAW students work flexible schedules , often right on campus or close by, and have earned a total of over $95 million in wages and tuition assistance.

Significantly lower student debt.

EAW students finish college with $15,000 less student debt than their peers on average.

Marketable skills that employers seek.

Eight of ten EAW graduates agree that EAW increased their readiness to join the workforce.

An accelerated career path and a quality first job out of college.

Compared to their peers, EAW graduates are more likely to be working full time, less likely to be unemployed, and report higher levels of career fulfillment.

Many EAW students consider the professional skills development and tuition assistance equally important. For them, the key combination was making college affordable, while simultaneously gaining the skills that will ensure the investment will turn into a successful career.

Job Placement and Career Satisfaction

Learning professional skills is one thing. Actually getting job offers and starting a satisfying career requires much more. That’s why EAW focuses on helping students build their network. This focus has paid off: EAW graduates report higher levels of career fulfillment than their peers. Moreover, the longer a student participates in EAW, the more likely they are to report career fulfillment. Here’s what two EAW students shared about the importance of this aspect of the EAW experience:

“Every interview I’ve had since getting that job, I’ve gotten an offer. Being able to have a Fortune 500 company on your resume as a 20-year-old helps with that.”

“During and internship interview, the manager interviewing me kept coming back to the fact that I had client-facing experience and project management skills. I believe these two skills developed at EAW were critical in landing the internship, leading to a full-time offer after graduation. I view EAW as a vital supplement to my college education.”

-Tomás Vallardes

“I was able to create a network with current full-time employees at one of EAW’s business clients who actually referred me to the full-time role I am in right now. I can’t see how I would have gotten this job without my EAW experience.”

EAW students develop critical professional skills that are difficult to learn without high-quality, work-based opportunities. These skills include communications, problem-solving, and understanding how to be successful in a work environment.
